Course Description

If you are seeking to improve your certification career status and are ready to take the necessary steps to earn a Professional Level Cisco® certification, then GlobalNet Training is your home for customized and continuously updated courses to insure not only a passing grade but the skills necessary to build and maintain your company’s current and future network.

The rationale behind the new CCNP program is that a CCNP certified individual should be able to support any kind of network — including wireless and voice. The new CCNP program maintains its focus on the advanced skills required to manage the routers and switches that form the network core, but also expands to include techniques to deploy and support wireless, voice, and security applications on the network edge.

Network professionals who achieve the new CCNP certification will demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to fully utilize Cisco® Integrated Service Routers (ISR), which provide wire-speed delivery of concurrent data, voice, video, and wireless services applications. By passing the exams, you will also demonstrate the expertise necessary to integrate and manage converged networks, quality of service (QoS), and virtual private networks (VPNs).

With 4 routers and 2 switches PER CCNP STUDENT, you can achieve your CCNP Certification Guaranteed!*

    Why Become CCNP Certified?

The CCNP certification indicates you have an advanced knowledge of networks. With a CCNP, a network professional can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for organizations with networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes, including but not limited to these protocols: IP, IGRP, Async Routing, Extended Access Lists, IP RIP, Route Redistribution, Route Summarization, OSPF, VLSM, BGP, Serial, Frame Relay, ISL, DDR, PSTN, PPP, VLANs, Ethernet, Access Lists, 802.10, FDDI, Transparent and Translational Bridging.

With a CCNP, a network professional can install, configure, and troubleshoot local and wide area networks for enterprise organizations with networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes. Network Professionals who achieve the CCNP have demonstrated the knowledge and skills required to manage the routers and switches that form the network core, as well as edge applications that integrate voice, wireless, and security into the network.

    This course is Cisco Authorized!*

Your instructor wrote the material used in class and updates it before each course.  We do not rely on outdated third party test preparation material or courseware. During our repetitive hands-on CCNP labs, students have access to the brand new Cisco ISR routers and advanced Cisco Catalyst IOS based switches.

GlobalNet's CCNP students receive the highest quality of training because we offer more hands-on lab time PER STUDENT than any competitor in the industry. Plus, with 4 routers and 2 switches PER CCNP STUDENT, you can achieve your CCNP Certification.

Get CCNP certified and take the necessary steps to prepare for your CCNP Security and CCIE Security certifications.

    Equipment

Understanding how to configure routers and switches is important, and GlobalNet's CCNP students gain that experience by training on 4 Routers and 2 Switches, including Multi-Layer Catalyst Switches and the Cisco ISR Router series, per student pod in more than 50 of our labs. See New Lab Topology Diagram Below.

The GNT lab equipment allows our students access to the newest and most advanced equipment, including the new Cisco ISR routers and the IOS based Catalyst switch product line.  Our Repetitive Hands-On Labs enable our students to build solid networking skills and to do the following:

    • Configure and verify IPv6 addressing and OSPF v3 (IPv6 Routing)
    • Configure ISR routers with the new Secure Device Manager (SDM) web interface.
    • Create QOS policies with CLI and SDM
    • Configure the IOS firewall and Intrusion Protection Sensor
    • Secure access to ISR routers with the new Auto-secure features
    • Create and configure an MPLS network
    • Enable routing between Vlans using Virtual Vlan interfaces.
    • Enable routing protocols (RIP and RIPv2) on a Catalyst Multi-layer switch (MLS) platform allowing the switch to converge with and share routing updates with stand alone routers.
    • Create and enable router ACL’s and Vlan ACL’s.
    • Create routed interfaces on a MLS.
    • Configure and monitor Cisco Wireless devices:
      • Cisco WCS Server
      • Cisco WLAN Controllers:  4400, 2100
      • Cisco Access Points:  Cisco Lightweight and Autonomous Access Points— 1000, 1100, 1200, 1242, 1310

Students do not share equipment and are given 24/7 access to their own dedicated pod of live Cisco gear.

PLEASE NOTE: To participate in the hands-on labs, please bring a laptop computer with wireless connection.  Basic Telnet, VPN, and Remote Desktop connections will be required.

    Prerequisites

Students should possess the Cisco® Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or the equivalent knowledge and/or working knowledge of basic networking and a solid grasp of TCP/IP and fundamental networking concepts. (See Guarantee for more information.)
