After reading about Subnetting in Lammle's book I looked at our network at work. On the same LAN we have two different subnets.
255.255.0.0 and 255.255.255.0
The subnets are 10.30.0.0 and 10.30.1.0
The computers on the network seem to communicate fine. All the computers start with the address 10.30.1.X
What I think i understand is going on is that all the computers on subnet 10.30.0.0 are included in subnet 10.30.1.0 so it works.
Are there any other problems with this type of configuration?
