Hello,
some chapters of the 5th edition are obsolete ...
Have a look into the 6th edition before you try to pass the exam!
Bye, Tore

The 5th edition will prepare you for the 640-801 (CCNA) exam (which retired lat year) and the 6th edition will prepare you for the 640-802 (CCNA) exam!

The Deluxe 5th edition is the same as the Standard 6th Edition.
Is your book the Deluxe?

For God's sake, answer something!
You're going to learn just by trying....if you wait for me, sometimes it takes weeks! :(
busy, busy...
Thanks, Tore

So, now that we are using the correct material...it still remains unanswered: how do you guys know when you are ready to take the plunge?

Thanks!

Touche.

I tried a the second practice test on Todd's CD last night and got 84%. Not bad considering I haven't actually finished the book yet.

If the CCNA tests to the same level *and the questions are clearly worded* I'll be ready by the 27th.

So I reckon we're ready when we can look at quizzes like those on Todd's CD and just *know* the answer.

Slightly off topic but I was concerned about the time factor but now think I'll be fine, as far as the multiple choice questions go. It'll just be a case of *reading the questions* and picking the answers...a kind of, either you know it or you don't scenario. Let's just hope we know a lot more than we don't!

For my final push, I'm gonna do 8 sessions of 50 minutes study for 4 days.

I will be ready.

You have to believe in yourself.

If you have worked hard, read Todd's book time and time again. Got your hands on and are dreaming of subnetting in your sleep. Then you are ready.

The quest for the CCNA is not a easy one.

Two questions:

If not now when?

If not now why?

When are we ever ready for what life brings us.

Best of luck.

You have to believe in yourself.

Good advice from Big Evil!

9 days out from my CCNA exam I just got 91% in 26 minutes on Bonus Exam 3 that came with Todd's book. I'd be stunned if the real thing is that easy...or perhaps Todd's book is just doing an even better job than I thought.

You just need to take the test and either you pass it or you know what you need to study for the next go around. Just make sure you know the basics of Networking down pat like knowing how arp works and how the mac address of the Ethernet header changes from host to host.
