The last post, regarding Boson, made me think that I can put more questions up here. AND I do have a post of questions that you should go through at this post: http://www.lammle.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=728&highlight=practice+questions

Once you get all those right (what? I didn't post the answers? right, you need to look them up, and they are all in my book, AND these are easy!).

But, I have a question that someone asked me in class last week and it was a good one, so I thought I'd ask it here:

How can you tell where you received the VTP database from?

Okay, let's see what you guys have in you this week, or are you not real admins and you're taking this week off?

Okay, one last thing....I just looked at the test and the answers are at the bottom.
This test is a "PRE-CCNA" test. If you are studying for your CCNA you should get a 100% on this with no problem.

Definite case of not concentrating properly...29/30.

Note to self...when you know the answer, make sure you click the correct button!

Okay, since it's Christmas, you get to miss one!! :)

did anyone get this question?

How can you tell where you received the VTP database from?

Please tell me you all aren't taking the night/day off!
No excuses, we're admins!! :)

show vtp status

Then look for the line:

Configuration last modified by

Show vtp status

The very last line in the output show the "last modified by"...and this gives you the IP address of the switch that sent you the VLAN database.
You then need to do a show cdp nei detail to find the switch name and see which switch that was.

Cheers!

The value of this present wasn't clear to me when I received it...

That said, it was very valuable advice :p
