Hi

I am Adil, dowin some work on Router 2600. I configured 3 routers with IPs for both eithernet and serial, according to the Lammle.s book Fifth Edition, chapter 5, it is configured fine but when I wana test dynamic routing it shows only directly connected ports. No dynamic routes.

If anybody can do some favour, I will be obliged.
Thanks

did you make sure that you have the right types of cables and that you used the clock rate command on the DCE interfaces?
Cheers!

I am having the same problem after configuring 2 routers for RIP v2. Perhaps I am missing some default setting in my configs (attached) that someone could look at? All I see are the static routes at AD 150 and the directly connected ones.

thanks!

OK, this is WHY we need hands-on experience. You would never learn what you are about to learn by just reading a text book, even it if is a great one - like mine!! :)

You cannot type a network number class C address as x.0.0.0
You need to type the FULL classful network address of 192.168.10.0, or whatever network it is. THIS IS A HUGE CCNA OBJECTIVE. RIP will not work as you have it configured now.

The way to see what to type in is "show ip route connected". This simple command shows what the routing protocol wants configured as network statements.

So, with this being said, "CONGRATULATIONS!"....you are learning and learning well.

So, reconfigure your network statements and watch RIP take off!

Cheers!

Thanks! you got me heading in the right direction and RIP is rippin'!
I catch on slowly but your book is a great help, and I look forward to passing the CCNA (with a little help from my friends)

onward to Chapter 7 and EIGRP!

Thanks again
