View Full Version : need to know SDM for 640-802?
Is it neccessary to study how the Cisco Security Device Manager (SDM) works? I've heard that it is not tested, however much of Lammle's CCNA Study Guide covers it. Also Cisco says (https://cisco.hosted.jivesoftware.com/community/certifications/ccna/ccna_exam?view=overview)it is an exam objective. I'd like to hear from those that have taken the test recently or know for sure. TIA.

Here is my take on both of these objectives.
Scan the information on SDM and IPv6 i nmy book, study the rest of the book really, really really, well, take and pass the CCNA, then come back and study SDM and IPv6 because they are super cool.
Enough said.

Hi,
I am ready to take my CCNA in about two weeks. I would like to download the SDM software just so I could get familiar with the program. Can you please let me know how I can download this, when I keep getting a screen to enter my CCO credentials. How can I get this software with out paying for it?
Please help.

Hi Buddy
Go to the chapter 4 about the Hands - on labs and see there, that the detailed direction regarding the downloading of the SDM is given. Read the instruction given by Todd carefully, and you are set to go. But, there is a catch, you have to fox appropriate Java software on your computer for the SDM to be working. So, just go through the discussion threads regarding the SDM.
