Hi Folks;
I have a 2801 and a 2811 with an "advanced enterprise services" ios. However, there's no cpability to config ipv6 when I go into conf t. Just ip (ipv4). which release are you using out there??
thanks much in advance!
Steve:confused:
IOS release 12.3T and up support IPv6 on those routers.
How are you trying to config ipv6?

Hi Fuzz;
Here are the IOS images I've tried so far on both 2801 and 2811:
c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.123-11.T10.bin
c2800nm-entservicesk9-mz.124-23.bin
I'm using the commands out of Todd's 6th edition CCNA book in chapter 13.
(config)#ipv6 unicast-routing
This is the cli return:
RTR2811(config)#ipv6 unicast-routing
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
RTR2811(config)#
I do appreciate your time and attention in responding. What do you think I should do next??
Thx much!:)
Steve
I'll check it out for you on Dynamips later if I can find the image.

Hello,
dynamips doesn't support 28xx IOS images! See <http://dynagen.org/tutorial.htm#_Toc193248012> for a list of supported hardware.
Bye, Tore
Using PT5, which uses advipservices 12.4(15)T, supports ipv6. All 28xx routers should support it according to Cisco.

Are you sure that you have an Advanced Enterprise Services IOS, or just an Enterprise Services IOS as the latter does not provide support for IPv6 on the 2800's.
For the most recent main stream release of IOS for the 2801/2811 look out for the following images which both provide IPv6 support.
c2801-adventerprisek9-mz.124-23.bin
c2800nm-adventerprisek9-mz.124-23.bin

Without actually trying it on the hardware I couldn't say for sure. Although some Cisco url's do tend to single out the 2801 model with it's own unique IOS image.
Certainly, at the software download tool, the 2801 is the odd one out with regards to the image file name c2801..., whereas the 2811/21/51 all share the same ios image c2800nm...
The following URL http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6441/products_tech_note09186a00804afba7.shtml
goes on to list the c2800nm... image against "2800 series", and then proceeds to lits the c2801... image as a specific for the 2801 model which makes me think that perhaps it does indeed have it's own unique image rather than supporting the generic c2800nm image.
However that is just my untested/unvalidated opinion.
Regards.
