Hai,
I got the CCNA self study book and read the Link State Routing protocol.

In that they used LSA (Link State Advertisements- with carries the state information about the router, router interface, and network in which they connected to) in a part and in the next half they introduced a new thing LSP (Link State Packets) two achieve the connectivity .

Whats the Difference between these two!!!
Can anyone help me here???

Thanks

hi dear !

as i know LSA protocol advertise a packet which contains router interface state ( Link State ) and routing information ( OSPF active on interface ) is known as LSP ( link state packets ).

also i would like to tell LSA protocol and Hello protocol ( Discover neighbours) both use to populate topology database built by OSPF from this table then
entry in routing table is placed.

is it clear am i right

by terminology itself

you can know that

link state protocol lsp

link state advertisement lsa

just remember protocol manages neighbours

and advertisement is kind of a broadcast which involves in sending packets and knowing their states
