Stuck Getting SDM to work for chatper 4

Hello All
I recently bought a 2691 XM router as this supports SDM.

i have issued all the commands on pages 225 and 226 to allow log in via SDM.

i open my SDM program and type the IP address in and check use HTTPS and click launch

The cert appears and i click yes for allow cert.
i then get a login screen and use my cisco cisco username and password i created.

if i browse to https://IP i get a windows and then another window saying sdm will open in another window and i put in my username and password and i cannot get any further.

You Java version and browser configuration are my first thoughts. If you are using IE, enable Allow active content to run files, add your router's IP address to trusted sites, and verify that Java is enabled. If that fails, I would start by double checking everything from the beginning.

1. Verify your browser version and the version of Java the browser uses.
2. Verify that the router has enough memory
3. Verify your IOS version
4. Verify that all the SDM files are installed and the SDM version.
5. Read the release notes for your version of the SDM
5. If everything checks out, post your running-config and information in 1-4 above.
