Hi all,

Passed my CCNA today 888/1000. very happy and thouroughly relieved! thanks Todd and others on this forum for all help!

With career progression in mind , how many have thought of taking the CCDA and a security certification? My feeling (initially) is to desgn, implement and test new or expanding infrastructure.

How speciallised is this area and would you consider taking on ccvp as well or an intermediate between ccna and ccvp?

Thanks

Tony

Thanks for posting and letting us know about your sucess! We love hearing sucess stories, especially in this economy.

the CCDA/DP path is pretty tough and I have not heard of a lot of job openings for such, but I suppose they exist. The CCNP, then either the CCSP or CCVP has job potential and will help you towards your CCIE in one of those paths.

Good luck choosing and congratulations again!
Todd

Congrats Tony, that very cool. Its a great feeling to walk out the test centre with the pass sheet.

TL is right on the money, the design side is not as easy to get in to.
What i would do is get a good all round understanding of all networking aspects.
That way if in the future you have a chance to get into desgin networking you can say you know about voice, security, wireless service provider etc...

HTH.

Hi TL and BE.

Thanks again, BE it is a relief and elation getting the certificate.

I suppose the design can wait for a while, get into supporting and configuring company networks.

TL, will you think about printing a study guide for those to pursue the ccna security?
