With the news that CCNP is about to change, I'm reluctant to start the exams. I've decided to expand my knowledge a little in different areas, and I'm thinking about persuing the CCNA concentrations, at least until I have a specific career path to choose the right route. At the moment, all paths sound good to me, and I do want to specialise, but I also want to keep my options open for job prospects. With the new rules on the exam requirements for CCNA: Voice needing either the IIUC or CVOICE, I have been thinking I'd like to start here, with the CVOICE exam. What kind of lab setups am I looking at needing for this exam alone (not the rest of the CCVP track)? Just routers with specific NM/WIC and IOS? All the concentration exams will have to be done self study, so if it's going to cost a lot to build, I'll have to look elsewhere.

You should be able to get this running with a few 2610XM or 2611XM with the modules and the IOS.
They are about £110 for two router on evil bay.

I just check with a friend who was doing the CCVP, he use the 3640 for routers and has a 3550 for his switch.

Mods he has:

NM-1V Voice Carrier Modules and VIC-2FXS Voice Phone Modules.

HTH.

Certainly does help, I've got 1 3640 already, so knowing they're up to the job is a big plus.

Cheers

O yeah, they are top routers.

I should have mention you may need a VoIP phone as well. LOL..
