i sent an email to cisco's security tipline along with the persons picture, a bitmap image of the posting on facebook, which included his Cisco ID number, last week as he admitted to passing his CCNP exam using Pass4sure.

what do you guys think? was i maybe in the wrong for doing that? i just find it devalues the efforts of honest individuals. i've been studying for a yeah now and i dont feel my efforts should be underminded by cheaters.

Cisco takes this very seriously and will decertify him.
This is a very serious action.
You did what you felt was right.

My thought is a stern email or post to the person telling them what will happen to them if they keep this up. I've posted many times something similar. Cisco doesn't mess around and I don't feel like I want to be the reason someone gets decertified.
If he did just us P4S's, then he doesn't know anything and won't be able to get a job.

There is a hard line here. Tell cisco and possibly ruin this person life, (remember - Cisco's ban can be for life!), or send them a stern warning to get on board or risk losing their certs. If they violate your warning, then yes, Cisco needs to know, but everyone deserves a 2nd chance and Cisco doesn't give 2nd chances.

Cheers!

Hey Mr Lammle yeah i do kinda feel bad for having to do that but a few other posters did post that Cisco takes this very seriously and can possibly decertify any such individual.

I don't see myself doing that again though as I do feel kinda bad....

Don't beat yourself up over it. The person was wrong and you did what you thought was right.
My personal opinion is to warn first, that's all.
You're cool. Remember, Cisco may or may not do anything, it's not up to you at this point.
Cheers!

He/she/they whatever, has already shot themselves in the foot by posting on a blog spot. As you mentioned they have put their name/Cisco ID etc on there, you will not be the first to tell Cisco about them. Cisco lurk on message boards and blog spots. That is a known fact.

Whenever someone chooses to use this method of passing their exams, it is up to them i have no personal opinion on this. It was the same when i was in to powerlifting/bodybuilding, guys using juice to get bigger quicker.

When it is all over the only person you are cheating is yourself, if you can live lke that i am happy for you.

Yeah I was suprised really. I mean why would someone choose to post their picture along with their cisco ID and admit to using braindunps..... totally dishonest in my opinion...
