Hi all
I am new to networking and have just started the CCNA course and I am stuck on this topic, can someone please explain how to calculate network, hosts and broadcast addresses. I am very confussed with this example below;

Given address/prefix of: 130.166.90.100 /17

10000000.10100110.01011010.01100010

Answer;

Type of address:

Network address 130.166.0.0

Broadcast address 130.166.127.255

First usable host address 130.166.0.1

Last usable host address 130.166.127.254

Read through chapter 3 of Todds book, he explains how you can arrive at all of those addresses from a given address and mask.
