I took the CCENT and failed. At first I felt bad almost like I let myself down, but after I got my printout I was feeling good again. Now I know exactly what to expect, and what to work on. Does any one have any suggestion on what to study up on?
My Score: 754 Passing: 804
Describe the operation of data networks 54%
Implement a small switched network 88%
Implement an IP addressing scheme and IP services to meet network requirements for a small branch office 11%
Implement a small routed network 81%
Explain and select the appropriate,
administrative tasks required for WLAN 67%
Identify security threats to a network and describe general methods to mitigate those threats 75%
Implement and verify WAN links 100%

Darn it!
I can subnet faster than I can blink (Thanks Todd!)
I think it was those hideous diagrams. You are probably right about it being subnetting I must have mixed up the addresses trying to put what where.

That quite close mate. Good to hear you know what to work on, most people aren't able to see the big picture.
Give yourself a week of hard study and take it again.

Thanks, I retake on Monday!!
The CCENT is based alot on theory - how data travels through the network, how addressing is implemented etc. Make sure you know exactly how traffic gets from one device to another, taking in all the devices along the way (routers and switches) and how they decide how to handle traffic sent to them.
Lab up some topologies and send some data through. At each device, ask yourself what is happening, both with the device itself and the data packet/frame (headers changing with new mac addresses, encapsulation etc).
Good luck for Monday
