Hi:
I'm trying to use an NM1-E card in a 2651 router, but the router won't recognize it.

Here's the output from a show diag:

Slot 1:
Unknown (type 55) Port adapter
Port adapter is disabled
Port adapter insertion time unknown
EEPROM contents at hardware discovery:
Hardware revision 1.2 Board revision C0
Serial number 14494732 Part number 800-01789-05
FRU Part Number NM-1E2W=
Test history 0x0 RMA number 00-00-00
EEPROM format version 1
EEPROM contents (hex):
0x00: 01 37 01 02 00 DD 2C 0C 50 06 FD 05 00 00 00 00
0x10: 60 00 00 00 99 05 25 17 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
0x20: FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
0x30: FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF

Is there any way to make this work?

Thanks,
Tony

An unknown port adpater message typically indicates that the verion of
IOS on the box does not recognize the port adpater in question.
Typically means you need to upgrade to another IOS.

It's a rather new IOS, 12.4(25c), so I'm surprised.
Maybe they dropped support for 10Mb cards?

Anyway, thanks for the info.

Could be. I had the same issue with a 2500 IOS the other day.
It would no see the two serial or FE int.
