pg294 IP address

Hi all

On page 294 towards the last paragraph it says..."But since we know the IP addresses...." How is it possible to conclude that the neighboring routers have the next available IP i.e. router 2501 connected on fast ethernet link 0/0 has an IP of 192.168.21.2/24 .


/24 give us valid hosts of 192.168.21.1/24 to 192.168.21.254/24

router 2501 could well be any of these possible addresses excluding 192.168.21.1/24 ? I now that show cdp neighbors detail will reveal this information

On the prevoius pages TL says "you will to assign any remote router the next IP address in each range" (page 292). That is where he is using the next IP.

However, you are correct any IP in the the /24 could be used.
