I think the answer to this question in the book CISSP Prep is wrong.

The primary goal of TLS Protocol is to provide:

A) Privacy & authentication between two communicating applications.
B) Privacy & data integrity between two communicating applications
C) Authentication & data integrity between two communicating applications
D) Privacy, authentication & data integrity between two communicating applications

The answer was supposed to be B), privacy & data integrity. I think D) is more appropriate, because TLS provides authentication as well.

According to the RFC,

"The primary goal of the TLS Protocol is to provide privacy and data
integrity between two communicating applications."
