Congrats on the passing score dbeare, you deserved it! You seem very knowledgeable and have been popping in the forums and helping out other members. Good luck as a CCNA. Happy New Years! :)

Pearson VUE handles settings up the testing and you select the testing centers. Here is the link to their UK site:

Best of luck.

Thanks dbeare, and yes this is a good point. If everyone doesn't know already. Cisco has decided to move all of their testing to Pearson VUE. This means VUE testing centers will be the only place to take Cisco exams. Microsoft has gone with Thompson Prometric. For any one that has taken exams before this could be a change, and the change has already happened.

Hey everybody,

First of all, Todd, if you're reading this, THANK YOU for such a great book. I've tackled a few other CCNA books over the last year, but yours made all the stuff I didn't understand really *click.*

Unfortunately, I took the exam today and failed (barely) with an 800. On the bright side, I know my weak spots, and when I go to re-study for the exam I rest assured that I need no other resource.

RouterPouter,
Disclosure of the information that is on the CCNA, in any way, is a violation of the NDA, and prohibited by Cisco. No offense, but letting people know what they need to study for, rather than having to master all of the material, makes the certification less valuable to those of us who have studied to get it.

Dbeare,

So sorry - I didn't intend for my post to be any kind of shortcut, nor did I intend for it to take away from the value of the certification. I was just trying to offer some "make sure you knows," not "you only need to know x/y/z." Anyway, I edited my post and nuked those bullet points. Thanks for making me aware of the situation.

Thank you Todd for this great book. It really covered the material required for the 640-802. Using your book for preparation, I passed the exam on Feb 19, 2008 with a score of 881/1000. My only weakness was that I had no experience with Cisco routers configuration since I deal at work with networking products from a different vendor. This resulted in wasting a big amount of time in answering the simulation questions, which reduced the time that should have been allocated for other questions. CCDA will be my next step.

Good luck on your quest for CCDA.

Todd,

Thank you VERY much for your great books. Earlier in this thread I posted defeat, but today I'm proud to say I PASSED the one-test CCNA after giving it the old college try again, and I never would've made it were it not for your easy-to-read (and dare I say FUN?) teaching style, great examples, and most of all, your explanation of subnetting. I just couldn't "get it" until your explanation. Now I can subnet in seconds!

I'll be writing a review of your great books - and plugging them - on my blog today or tomorrow. I'll post the link here when it's done.

Thanks,
Brian

Thanks again - you have no idea what a relief it is to have that CCNA monkey off my back.

Hello,
so now there is enough space for the CCNP monkey? ;-)
Bye, Tore

I first need to reintroduce myself to my wife since I've been studying away like a squirrel for so long. Then I'm working on MCSE next. I'd probably come back and do CCNP if the right opportunity called for it. Do you have your CCNP Crissa?

[...] Do you have your CCNP Crissa?

Hello,
no, I started with BCMSN mid of March. At the moment I hope to pass the BCMSN exam until end of May. (I passed the CCNA exam in December and AWLANFE in March.)
Bye, Tore

I passed the 640-802 exam today.

I have problems with simulators, they frozen while i was typing the commands and i just quit or these questions . Because this i got 907 score. I think this exam was very easy. I just read the entire 6th Edition from Todd Lammle CCNA book and the commands Guide for CCNA. 2 weeks after start read the Lammle's CCNA guide i passed on exam.

Thanks to Todd to have written a great book!

Now i'll study for CCDA.

Regards,

Marcelo.
