Hi all,

I have an upcoming project in which I intend to change the existing network addressing for a municipality to allow for growth. Currently they have a single Class C Address for the internal LAN eg. 192.168.1.X/24 - This municipality currently has four different physical locations tied together wirelessly and all locations are part of the same subnet. I am expecting a lot of growth with several more locations coming onboard, so I thought now would be a good time to properly plan network addressing in anticipation of this growth. Currently there are less than 100 nodes on this network but I was thinking that a Class B network address would likely be suitable. I noticed Todd suggested keeping subnets at 100 hosts per subnet, does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions in this situation as far as the network addressing goes? e.g. 172.16.x.x OR 10.x.x.x ? etc.?

thanks,

I am also going to be doing this also to my networks, although can someone indicate to me why I shouldn't use the 192.0.0.- networks (instead of 192.168.1.-). Or is it just not efficient?
