Hello Todd,

I am preparing for my CCNA exam which is due on feb. I am studying from your book Platinum edition. How can I get the SDM tool to practise on ?

I have got a query regarding OSPF areas. As far as I read the book it emphasis more on area 0 only, will ther be other area as well for the exam ?

Is there any update for platinum edition or thats the latest ? Please help me out. Hope to see your reply soon.

Thank You

As far as I can tell from Cisco's requirements for the CCNA, they are mainly concerned with single area configuration of OSPF. I don't think you'll get into multi-area configuration until the BSCI exam for the professional level.

Hey there,
dbeare is right for the CCNA exam they are only concerned with single area OSPF, and when you get to the BSCI there will be multi-area OSPF.
As far as the SDM goes you have a couple of choices. You can take a class where you will have access to the equipment or you can buy the equipment. The only other this that you can do is download the SDM software from Cisco's website. it has a trial mode where you can see some of the interface. This trial software will only start to help you as it does not allow you to do and see everything.

Of course it is no guarantee nothing but I didn't get any questions involving SDM.
Basically I think if you have mastered the CLI, going through the screenshots provided in the book should get you there. The principle is the same.
