Review Question 18: "You have a network with a subnet of 172.16.17.0/22. Which is the valid host address?"

The typo here is number 17, because we can't have the subnet 172.16.17.0 with a /22 CIDR. In the answers sheet it's corrected though.

Let's make the 7th edition perfect! In chapter 9, page 581, in the last paragraph: "... it would definitely be a problem if you have more then 255 switches."

you mean 'than.'

I reported some others (that aren't listed in the errata page) through Sybex's website a year ago. Have you seen them?

This remains the best CCNA book ever, a treasure!

Amr, thank you for posting.
That wasn't really a wrongly worded question or typo.
The question was worded that way on purpose at the time, but so many people wrote me that I finally just changed it.
The idea was to have people figure out that it is in the 16 subnet and then figure the valid hosts from there.
I was trying to get people use to the CCNA type questions.

But in the 7th edition, I removed it. Not sure if I got your second one, possibly, but we'll find out in a couple weeks!! :)

Thanks for writing.
Cheers!
