Figure 9.12 shows a router config for subinterface f0/0.2 with an ip address in the 192.168.10.32/28 subnet. The HostB in VLAN two has the address in 192.168.10.16/28 subnet. This config will not work.

This was directed to Todd for a correction to his text. This is an instructional guide and it just seems wrong to use incorrect information. I'm sure it was just an over sight.
I wasn't asking for an explanation of why it was ok to be wrong, because it is not, or for any of the extra change you carry around (2 cents). Thanks

Hello, are we talking about Page 580, Fig 9.12, chapter 9 of the book by Todd Lammle edition 6?
Coz I have it as Host B having address of 192.168.10.17 and not 192.168.10.16 as you pointed out.

Yes, the IP address of hostB needs to just be deleted. It really isn't a part of the question as it is asking what is the IP address and DG we want to assign to Host A.
That IP address of hostB must have been left over from another drawing I was using.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Just to point out, however, this doesn't change anything in the text as it is correct.
Cheers!
Todd Lammle
