Hi all, I'm studying for my ICND1. I am kind of confused on the answer to one of the questions in the CCENT (ICND1) book. On switches...

6. If a switch recieves a frame and it is a broadcast, what will the switch do to the frame?

6answer. When all ports are in either the blocking or forwarding mode.

I do not understand the answer at all:confused:. Can someone please explain to me the answer? Or is it a typo of some sort? I found one typo already in the previous chapter, and this one might be another one, but I am really new to this so please explain if someone can. Thank-you :)

The answer is that the switch will flood the network, or forward the frame out all ports on the switch.
I don't have the book with me to confirm the correct answer, but that answer you wrote is not correct.

Thank-you for the quick reply. That's what I thought the answer would of been, but the answer in the book wasn't. In the book was the one I had written, that's why I questioned it. So, it is a typo of some kind then. Btw, I love the way you author your books, its easy to understand and follow especially for a person like me. I'm the kind of person that needs to read things more than once for the information to stick. Thank-you for clearing it up for me.
