audio available for 640-802?

My coworker has the “CCNA : Cisco Certified Network Associate Study Guide: Sixth Edition (Exam 640-802)”, but I have the “CCNA : Cisco Certified Network Associate Study Guide: Fifth Edition (Exam 640-801)”. We’re both looking to study together to acquire our CCNA certification. Because I have what appears to be the outdated [fifth edition] guide, and because we’re going to be studying together, I’ll be purchasing the newer sixth edition guide.

I have a very long commute, and would very much like to have your “CCNA : Cisco Certified Network Associate Study Guide: Sixth Edition (Exam 640-802)” in audio format. Do you have or will this be available?

Also, I see that you have “Audio Learning Cisco Study Aid: CCNA 3.0 #640-801 By Todd Lammle, Model: 202CD” available. While it seems obvious this is geared more for the older 640-801 exam, do you feel this is a good study aid for the newer 640-802 exam? Is there an audio study aid for 640-802? If an audio study aid for 640-802 is not yet available, are you working on one, and of course when would it be available?

Yes, the current CD and Videos are ok for the new exam, but I am adding two new modules: Wireless and IPv6 this week.

Even though I did put 640-801 on the name of each product, they are all foundational material and are good for the 640-802 exam.

Wtih the new modules, they'll be 100% ready for the 640-802 exam.

- Just so I totally understand, you’re working on those two new modules (Wireless and IPv6) to be incorporated into this audio study guide? Or are these two new modules going to be available just for the DVD videos?
- I’m interested in buying the audio portion so I can listen while in my long commute, but want to be sure I have All the audio if I order it (including these two new modules you’re currently working on). How do you suggest I go about this? Should I just wait for a newer 202CD package to become available that would include these two new modules? Or but the 202CD package now, and could I expect to get the other two modules sent to me when they’re available?

3) Regarding the ‘Audio_Study_Guide.mp3’ that’s included on the CD that came with “CCNA : Cisco Certified Network Associate Study Guide: Sixth Edition (Exam 640-802)”…
- I like this – it’s very good.
- However, it’s only 33 minutes and 29 seconds. It goes over some stuff, but then ends without continuing with additional [needed] info.
- Is this ‘Audio_Study_Guide.mp3’ the same as what comes with “Audio Learning Cisco Study Aid: CCNA 3.0 #640-801 By Todd Lammle, Model: 202CD”? Or is it part of what comes with the 202CD package? Or is there more .mp3 files available to continue where the ‘Audio_Study_Guide.mp3’ stopped?

Scott, thanks for writing.

The videos and audios on the CCNA Study Guide are "samples", not complete products. The provide a lot of material for free. They were not meant as an advertisment to buy more product, but as full learning modules.

The editors of the product had to stop the study guide versions somewhere, and I have not heard nor seen them myself, but they will not be full-many-hour-long versions on the book. There is only so much room on the CD.

I am planning on finishing up the audio next week so (Feb 2008) so that it covers everything in my new book, including SDM, IPv6 and Wireless. The rest of the information in the book is already covered. I'll also do another review question CD.

The videos, although the ones I have out still are valid, will be fully redone with new material. I want to start over and do a better job. Plus I've lost some weight! :)

So, keep an eye on the lammlepress web site and I'll announce the production dates of these products. If you can wait and read through the book till they are finished in a month or less, hopefully, that's great! If not, I understand that you need product.

I'll do my best to get them out as quick as possible, without cutting back on any quality.
