Guys,

I have questions about the router configuration you provide for SDM on p.225.

1. When configuring the router to use HTTP for SDM, don't you need to use the ip http server command? Or is it on by default?

2. When configuring the router to use HTTPS for SDM, Cisco suggests turning off ip http server for security reasons (doesn't sound like it's mandatory to me). So if ip http server can be off, is there another reason you've turned it on in this config? Or does this command actually belong with the HTTP config commands?

Thanks

Yes, ip http server is on by default and you can turn it off if you are not using SDM or you are using https. You need ip htto secure-server if you are using SDM with https, which is what is recommended.
