In a 6509 switch if we have two sup engines then which one will be active and whih one will be hot. And what is the standard of inserting the sup engine (in which module it should be inserted, if we have to insert two sup module and if we have to insert one sup module)

It differs from the type of sup engine you are putting in mate.
Check http://www.nesevo.com/NesevoWiki/index.php/Cisco_Catalyst_6509_and_Cisco_6509-E

SSO establishes one of the supervisor engines as active while the other supervisor engine is designated as standby, and then SSO synchronizes information between them. You must configure SSO for this to work or one will show as active the other as cold.

Forgot to mention.

To manually switch over the standby Supervisor Engine
