Question 5 Reads:
Which of the following describe router functions (Choose four)
A Packet Switching
B Collision Prevention
C Packet Filtering
D Broadcast Domain Enlargement
E Internetwork Communication
F Broadcast Forwarding
G Path Selection
When I read the answer, I found that you (Todd) used the information from page 7 in the "Four functions in your network"
Packet Switching
Packet Filtering
Internetwork Communication
Path Selection
My question is why is Collision Prevention not a correct answer. Routers do not forward Broadcasts so they stop collisions from crossing between parts of your network. Thus they prevent collisions, not everywhere, just from spreading throughout your whole network. We spent a lot of time in this chapter discussing how routers do not pass broadcasts, this is confusing to me. Help. If anyone else other than Todd knows the answer, please feel free to post this, I do request knowledge rather than speculation, as I am a student and I want to get this right and have a clear understanding.
Thanks all,
Charlie
