Hello Mr.lammle,
I have a question. Is 'Cisco’s Unified Wireless Solution' included in the latest ccna objectives?
Thanks.

No, the Cisco Unified Wireless is not listed in their current CCNA objectives.

Here is what is:

Understand basic service sets: BSS, IBSS and ESS

fundementals of 802.11: 802.11A, 802.11B, 802.11G, the speeds, distances and their Data Link layer protocols.

Basic wireless security, including WEP, TKIP, WPA and WPA2 - very basic...

Cheers!

Hi Todd
Can you just confirm please that this is still all we need to know.

Also on page 712 you state that we can skip the CUWS section. Can you please clarify from what page we should start learning again?

Many thanks...Alan

The CCNA objectives concerning wireless haven't changed, but why do you want to skip that section out? Personally I try and learn as much as I can about a subject for deeper understanding, even if I won't be tested on it. The whole point of gaining the certification for me was to be able to apply the skills in real life, not to be awarded a piece of paper, so there's no reason I'd not read and absorb all the learbning material presented before me.

Thanks Fuzz
Yes I totally agree with you. I have no intention of skipping this section. Im just not going to concentrate on memorizing sections I dont need for the exam.
Unfortunately Ive been put on a very tight time frame to get re-certified, so I have to prioritize what to memorize.
I last sat the CCNA exam way back in 2001....so Ive got a lot to catch up on in a short time

Cheers.....thanks again
Alan
