View Full Version : ASBR question - chapter7/page 445/446
Dear Todd,
I have a small question regarding technical term: ASBR
Is it Autonomous System Border Router (p. 445 - Figure 7.4) or Autonomous System Boundary Router (p. 446)? Maybe both termrs are correct?
Thank You in advanced.
Regards,
mst

You know, I just don't know.
I usually use "border", but I can easily use "boundry" in a sentence I suppose.
It is so rare that you would see this configuration in today's network.
Thanks for posting.
Cheers!
Todd

According to Cisco it's Autonomous System Border Router, not Boundary router. In fact the B in ABR and ASBR means Border! There is no boundary in any of these terms. :D

Yes, the CCNA objectives are huge and vague as well.
You have to have a lot of fortitude these days to get your CCNA.
Cheers!

Yeah, you are absolutely right.
One way or another I will try to sit the 640-802 Composite next week.
I guess after the exam I wll write a short review of what I came across and what "operational records" I used during my preps :) - mb it will be helpful to others "wannabes".
Sorry for my broken English, I'm not a native.
Regards!
