Does anyone have any thoughts on this scenario:

An ASA appears to go AWOL for a few hours overnight. All VPN connections are dropped and the ASA cannot be reached on either its inside or outside interfaces.

Syslog is set up to an external server and shows no messages relating to power down/power up. It's simply missing any logs between the hours it was down, and then carries on like nothing happened.

Problem with the hardware? Any external factors to consider?

There is nothing in the bugs for anything like this. I would upgrade the IOS and go from there mate - sorry that is not much good advice.

No worries, thanks for looking.

So you definately think it's a problem with the ASA? I can only fathom that it seems to shutdown the interfaces and then bring them back up randomly.

If someone was unplugging it there'd be syslog messages sent surely?

You would see the interfaces shut on the syslog though either way.

I have seen strange stuff happen -
