I'm following along the configuration process of the network in figure 8.9 on page 359 on packet tracer.
Just a few questions:
1. When is it necessary to assign a VTY line of 0 807?
2. To whomever has the book, while finishing up the configuration of R1, I only get this:
R1#sh ip route
Codes: C - connected, S - static, I - IGRP, R - RIP, M - mobile, B - BGP
D - EIGRP, EX - EIGRP external, O - OSPF, IA - OSPF inter area
N1 - OSPF NSSA external type 1, N2 - OSPF NSSA external type 2
E1 - OSPF external type 1, E2 - OSPF external type 2, E - EGP
i - IS-IS, L1 - IS-IS level-1, L2 - IS-IS level-2, ia - IS-IS inter area
* - candidate default, U - per-user static route, o - ODR
P - periodic downloaded static route
Gateway of last resort is not set
C 192.168.10.0/24 is directly connected, FastEthernet0/0
C 192.168.20.0/24 is directly connected, FastEthernet0/1
I have a feeling I have to add a default IP route. Anyone else tried following along? What can be the problem? I did have to manually set up the interface cards in order to match the labels in the book so I don't have to make the interface numbers up.
You guys don't really have to answer to this particular problem. Just wondering if anyone did this on packet tracer or physically.
