I created the same topology on page 527 in the 7th ed. book with packet tracer and as I got to the port fast part, I enabled bpduguard and it immedeately disabled int f0/4, the link connected to the IP Phone B.

How did this happen? Did the phone send a BPDU packet?

Also, my switch does not have the bpdufilter option so does that have anything to do with it?

I have the same issue!! I am unable to reactivate the port also. Any clues?

Same here, I just assumed it was a packettracer error. I'm getting some IOS's tomorrow from a friend so I can start using GNS3. Even after taking BPDUguard off of the interface I still couldn't get the port back up even if I bounced it.
