Hi All,
Can someone please assist with this question;
When subnetting with a /24, how many host bits are on. As I understand it, when using a class C, there are 0 host bits on and 8 host bits off. In this instance, how many subnets does this address provide for.
Again, as I understand it, if you use this mask with a class B address, there will be 8 bits on and 8 bits off.
Similarly, with a class A address (using this mask), you will have 8 bits on and 16 bits off.
Is my undertanding of this mask correct?
Lastly, does anyone know how to start a new post (an entirley new topic).
Looking forward to a few responses.
Kind regards,
Ian Ward
