So after troubleshooting the OSPF setup in lab 8, I was having some problems pinging through R3 and R4 (R2 and R3 in the written example). After an hour of pulling my hair out, I ran a shut then no shut on F0/0 for R3. The same on F0/0, F0/1 on R4. Then all worked fine. Did anyone else experience this? I'm just wondering if this the way it is supposed to be, and if there is an explanation as to why I had to reset the ports.
Just remembered some details that may be helpful. I ran sh ip ospf int f0/0 and it said the ospf was disabled on this interface. So i ran no passive-interface f0/0. It didn't seem to change anything. Then I ran shut and no shut, which seemed to do the trick. I guess my question is what causes ospf to be disabled on certain ports? Thanks.
