Which of the following Operating Systems provides Kerberos implementation?
a Windows 2000
b Xenix
c OS/2
d Linux

Knowing that CISSP is not a vendor specific exam, not sure if this should be a valid question in cccure quiz (I was doing Access Control).
Anyway, what would be your response?

Windows 2000 is "a" correct answer as kerberos comes with it AND Windows 2003. Check this out:
Windows 2000 Kerberos Authentication (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000serv/deploy/confeat/kerberos.mspx)

I am not a Linux guy, but don't you have to INSTALL Kerberos on Linux? If you do then maybe that is why the Windows 2000 answer is "more" corect.

As for the likely hood of seeing this again: I would N OT completely discount that. As for vendor nutraility... I don't see this a vendor-oriented question like "How do you configure Kerberos on a Windows 2003 server," so I would say there is some validity there. Even if I am wrong, wouldn't your clients have more confidence in you, if you knew it any way.[/url]
