Hi Todd, hope that you had a gooed weekend.

With regards to advanced access lists, you mention that most of these are beyond the objectives of the CCNA. As you know I am booked to write on the 15th of July, unfortunatly, I am a little behind in the work I need to get thorugh. With this in mind, which of the Advanced access lists do I need to comit to memory?

As always, appreciate your feedback.

Kind regards,

Ian Ward.

humm....I'll have to look through my book.
Standard, extended and named access lists are all objectives.
However, one thing you have to know better then anything else is how to configure PAT. If you can't configure PAT, you will be pretty stressed come test day.
But, yes, you need to know access lists.

Hi Todd, thanks for the response. I spent all of Sunday learing access-lists and am pretty happy, I understand them well. I am just trying to cut down on the work I have to get through before the 15th.

Thanks again for the reply.

Ian, I would say you have more work to do.

You need to study for hours every day between now and your exam day.
This test can not be taken lightly. It is HARD.

Please study the whole book again.
then go through all your hands-on labs, then do the PAT lab over and over again that is in my book.

Cheers!

Hi Todd,

I still have to get to PAT and NAT, VLANS, switches, IPV6, wireless and chapter 5. Everything else, I know pretty well - except maybe a little troubleshooting here and there ; )

What I do really know well, however, is subnetting. Basically, I know subnneting by heart. I can count in the power of 2 until 24. I know block sizes and, as I say, all the numbers associated with subnetting "backwards". This has been the foundation of my study.

I have only looked at the SDM and tried it once or twice. How much focus do I need put into IP V6?

Kind regards,

Ian Ward.

Study for your exam and then come back and learn SDM and IPv6.
