I am preparing for the ccna exams. and i have a doubt on a simulation question. how to know about from which switch the switch will receive the vlan information? My friend told me by using the command #sh vtp status you can get the updater identity and then give #sh cdp neighbors detail then you could able to know the switch. Is that correct??

yes, your friend is correct

show vtp status will provide the vtp domain name, which you can then set on your second switch - remember these are case sensitive!

Also, show cdp neighbors detail will provide you with the neighbor switch IP address.
