The bigger and bigger your configuration grows, the longer you have to wait for a "show run" output. This is because each time the show run command is executed, the router queries each interface to find the individual commands entered. To save you some wait time, Cisco introduced a command to cache your configuration in memory (for a measly 15K memory sacrifice):

Router(config)#parser config cache interface

Keep in mind that you must execute the "show run" command once after issuing this in order to cache the configuration.

The parser command has some surprising results at time, and most of them are undocumented.

You are finding some fun stuff today. Nothing better than studying Cisco on a Sunday afternoon.

I thought maybe you'd go to the NFL game tonight in London....

Hey, talked with Pat and we're going to get you a pre-production CCNP study guide for you to tech edit....I figured you'd like this part....

Cheers!

O yeah thats a good Sunday for me!

I would love to have gone to the NFL game, but three things stop me.
1. The cost of the tickets.
2. Its miles aways from me.
3. After the last game here, people who i know from the U.S said it was a poor game as the teams decided not to play that hard as they would in the states.

Also Maddox (our baby) was helping me with my BSCI study.

That great Todd, i am so excited to get my hands on the stuff you and Pat have been working on.
What a great start to the week.

Cheers.
