In all honesty, you don't have to memorise router commands. Many commands I have used on routers/switches/firewalls have never been shown to me, you just pick them up because you understand what it is you are trying to achieve. That's the difference between "learning" and "memorising". If you learn, you are not confined only to what has been shown to you.
Personally I'd never be too worried that I'm being taught too much - I'd rather spend more time learning than not learning enough. Do you think anyone who has passed their CCNA doesn't continue to learn new CCNA-level things?
