Echo is an incoming request,
Echo replay is the request going back out,

When 192.168.1.1 ping 192.168.1.2
the icmp request is echo
and when 192.168.1.2 reply's
its an echo-reply

Standard ACLs will look into the source address field and if the condition applied it'll block the traffic. That is correct? if yes, then, when we ping an interface IP, it'll receive the traffic but if you specified block it, when the ACLs look into the source address field it will block the back traffic. In this case the echo reply.

Please correct me if I'm wrong
