question bout ppp

why canot we see PPP or HDLC or FRAME RELAY headers in packet sniffers? i use wireshark as my packet sniffer.... but i alway see application tcp/udp then ip then ethernet header...... where does ppp or hdlc encapsulation take place???

does that mean packt should look like application tcp/udp ip ppp????
