Help!
I found a deal on an IDS-4215 to study for the IPS exam but am having some troubles. I think I know what the problem is, but am just not totally sure. When I power the IDS up connected to the console port, I see some initial POST messages--hardware ID, BIOS version, "Compiled by". Then there's a long pause of more than 2 minutes before I see "Evaluating Run Options ..." and within a few more seconds "Check for valid disk image". Then nothing. Fine. I need to go to ROMMON and upload the IPS image file to the HDD again. Once I do this and the system reboots, it says "Press enter to activate this console". If I do nothing, the system stops here. If I press Enter, it says something about Busybox and brings me to a shell prompt. It looks like the whole image has loaded on the IDS, but when I do an fdisk -l, all that shows up is /dev/ram0. Dead hard drive, or am I doing something wrong? I've tried a version 5 and version 6 .img file. Thanks for any help. |
