Hello
I have bought your book and cd on ebay and they were great and inspiring educational tool. Recently I have bought Cisco 2600 router with two t1 csu/dsu one core router port E0 3 Ethernet ports E1 E2 E3 and 2 Ethernet ports E0/0 and E0/1. I have a straight through wire Connected to wireless AP Linksys which now connect to the pc’s nic.I also have a Cisco 1900 Switch with 24 ports. Where do I connect the straight through wire ? when I connect it to the Switch and a straight through wire from the switch to the core router port which is configured With the pc’ default gateway and another wire from the switch to the pc’s nic. I can not ping the pc’s Ip address .Am I connecting it wrong obviously ! something is not right . Do I need a crossover cable from the Linksys to the 2600 router .Do I connect the Linksys wire to the 2600 router with a crossover or to the switch with straight through cable? I have configured the router with a static IP address(ip route) when I connect the Linksys wire to the switch I have internet connection But then again I have internet connection even when the router is turned off and only the switch is working. Can you please help me. ?? Thank you very much Moe |
