Default Using EIGRP on a network with multiple masks

Hi Todd, hope you had a good weekend.

I really hope that you can provide me with a quick explanation to a problem I have encountered using EIGRP in a network with multiple masks.

I have created a network with 10 routers using a 192.168.0.0 network address. On my serial conections I have applied a /30 mask. On my fastethrnet connections, I have applied a mix of masks (/25, /26, /27 etc).

If I configure EIGRP on my routers like this;

Router EIGRP 10
network 192.168.0.0

it doesnt work - Can you tell me why?.

I can get it working through my network by including the subnet eg: On one of my core routers, the config will look something like this;

Router EIGRP 10
network 192.168.10.0
network 192.168.15.0
network 192.168.20.0

Hope that you can shead some light on this problem and looking forward to your response.

Kind regards,

Ian Ward
